Gymnast Livvy Dunne's bid to acquire Babe Ruth's former residence met with rejection by the apartment building's cooperative association.
Olivia Dunne, a renowned gymnast and social media influencer, had a contract to buy a $1.6-million apartment on Manhattan's Upper West Side that was once owned by baseball great Babe Ruth. However, her dream of residing in the historic abode was dashed when the co-op board of the building rejected her application.
Dunne, who grew up less than an hour away from the apartment in Hillside, N.J., shared her disappointment about not being able to buy the apartment in a video posted on TikTok. She stated that she was prepared to pay in cash and had even hired an interior designer for the apartment.
The co-op board did not provide an explanation for their decision, leaving Dunne to speculate about the reasons behind the rejection. She suggested that it might have been due to her being a public figure or even a rivalry in college sports affiliations.
Meanwhile, Dunne is lending her support to the Pirates in their quest to find the owner of a unique Paul Skenes card released by Topps. The team has offered prime season tickets for 30 years to whoever ends up with the card.
In other sports news, Trinity Rodman, daughter of NBA legend Dennis Rodman, is attending Wimbledon to support her boyfriend, Ben Shelton. Rodman has requested that her father not be mentioned during the Wimbledon tennis coverage.
