Guns N' Roses Set Record for Longest Show at Wacken Open Air

Guns N' Roses made history at the Wacken Open Air festival on Thursday evening, setting a new record for the longest show in the event's history.

The US rock band, who were the headliners of the festival, paid tribute to heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne during their performance. Axl Rose, the lead vocalist of Guns N' Roses, stated, "We're all here because of you," as a tribute to the iconic musician.

The show started around 8:35 PM and ended just before midnight, lasting for a remarkable three hours and twenty-five minutes. This surpassed the previous record held by Iron Maiden, who performed for two hours and forty-five minutes in 2016.

During their set, Guns N' Roses played two songs by Ozzy Osbourne's former band Black Sabbath: "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" and "Never Say Die!". This was a fitting tribute, as both Iron Maiden and Judas Priest have previously performed at the Wacken Open Air, making it a gathering of heavy metal legends.

The Wacken Open Air, which has been hosting the metal scene regularly since 1990, is considered one of the largest heavy metal festivals worldwide. Other acts expected to perform at the festival include French band Gojira and US rockers Papa Roach.

This performance marked the final show of Guns N' Roses' Europe and Middle East tour, making it a fitting end to an epic tour. The band's energetic performance and tribute to Ozzy Osbourne were undoubtedly a highlight of the festival, and a moment that will be remembered by metal fans for years to come.

The historic performance by Guns N' Roses at Wacken Open Air was not just a concert, but a three-hour-and-twenty-five-minute tribute to music and entertainment. The US rock band's set, featuring hits and tunes from other heavy metal legends like Black Sabbath, made it a grand spectacle of music history.
