In the small town of Anaconda, Montana, an active investigation is underway following a tragic shooting incident at a local bar on Friday, August 1, 2025. The suspected perpetrator, Michael Paul Brown, a 45-year-old former U.S. soldier, is still at large.
The shooting resulted in the loss of four lives, and Brown is considered extremely dangerous and unstable by authorities. He is believed to have used a personal rifle in the attack and escaped in a stolen 2007 white Ford F-150 pickup truck.

The Montana Governor, Greg Gianforte, has allocated additional resources to the manhunt, and law enforcement is exploring all possibilities regarding Brown’s whereabouts. This includes searching local woods where he previously hunted and camped.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, at least 11 people were injured in a knife attack at a Walmart store in Traverse City, Michigan on Sunday. However, it is important to note that there is no established connection between this incident and the shooting in Anaconda, Montana.
