Gunfest in Holt, spanning from July 3rd to July 7th
Get ready for an action-packed week in Holt as the annual Shooting Festival returns for its 40th anniversary! The event, which is steeped in tradition and camaraderie, promises a series of captivating activities for locals and visitors alike.
The festivities kick off on Friday, 4th July, with a gathering in the festival tent at 5:30 PM, followed by the erection of the king's maypole at the youth and recreation center, Hehnerholt 12. The evening will be filled with music, as the band "TeamWork" takes the stage at 8:00 PM, offering a free admission concert for all.
On Saturday, 5th July, the excitement continues with a procession at 5:00 PM, leading to the festival tent. Later in the evening, Altking Oliver Bauß, participating in the king's silver for the third time, is set to shoot the bird from the perch, along with other competitors from St. Michael's Marksmen. The party in the festival tent with the band "Klangstadt" will commence at 8:00 PM.
Sunday, 6th July, marks the grand finale of the festival. The day begins with a parade at the Caritas center, Hehnerholt, followed by a musical brunch in the festival tent. At 10:30 AM, a colourful afternoon is planned for Holter citizens aged 60 and above. The highlight of the day is the grand military tattoo at Holter Kreuz, scheduled for 7:00 PM.
The day will also see the coronation of the young king of the brotherhood, Hendrik Heynckes, accompanied by his brother-masters, Kevin and Michael Schiffer. They belong to the Blue Young Officers of Holt, a group founded in 2023. Hendrik Heynckes looks forward to an unforgettable festival with his queen, Julina.
The festivities will conclude on Monday, 7th July, with a grand king's parade featuring the parade of clog women at the house of King Oliver Bauß, followed by a clog dance in the festival tent with the band "Teamwork". The day will also see a bird shooting event scheduled for 1:30 PM at the festival tent, and a gathering in the tent at 8:00 AM.
