Gummersbach's Pregler Joins Frisch Auf Early - Gummersbach's Pregler Joins Frisch Auf Early
Two handball transfers originally set for summer 2026 have been moved forward to January 1. Ole Pregler will now join Frisch Auf Göppingen early, while Ludvig Hallbäck leaves the club for VfL Gummersbach. The changes follow a player swap agreement during the EM break.
Frisch Auf Göppingen and VfL Gummersbach had initially planned both moves for after the current season. However, recent rule adjustments allowed a mid-season swap, benefiting all parties involved.
The club decided to bring Pregler in sooner to strengthen their young squad and gain financial flexibility. His early arrival supports their sporting goals and economic planning. At the same time, Hallbäck’s transfer to Gummersbach was also accelerated to meet his request for an earlier switch.
Both players had pushed for the changes, and the clubs agreed to adjust the timeline. The transfers will now take effect on January 1, aligning with the EM pause.
Pregler will step into a playmaker role at Göppingen, while Hallbäck joins Gummersbach’s lineup. The early transfers provide both clubs with immediate roster adjustments and financial advantages. The agreement reflects the players’ preferences and the teams’ strategic needs.
