Guitar virtuosos Julian Lage and Nigel Tufnel's names find an unexpected connection, as their instrument brands are highlighted in the trailer for Spinal Tap II - St. Vincent's Music Man and Joe Satriani's Ibanez JS-3 are both represented.

The wait is finally over! The long-anticipated Spinal Tap sequel, titled Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, has been released and promises an "hour and 23 minutes of guitar heaven."

In this new instalment, Derek Smalls can be seen playing a Schecter C-5 in Satin Metallic Light Blue bass and a Lakland Skyline bass, while David St. Hubbins strums an Ibanez JS-3 Joe Satriani signature guitar and a PRS McCarty 594 Singlecut guitar.

The guitar brands and models featured in the film are not mere props but carry significant meaning, blending guitar culture deeply into the narrative. Nigel Tufnel, another member of Spinal Tap, is seen playing a Collings 470 JL Julian Lage signature model Telecaster with a P-90 pickup and a custom Union Jack finished St Vincent's signature Ernie Ball Music Man Goldie.

Nigel's character is shown to have undergone a career shift, running a cheese and guitar shop in Berwick-upon-Tweed, and even performing with a local folk band that plays penny whistle and mandolin.

Derek Smalls, on the other hand, is the curator of the New Museum of Glue in London. David St. Hubbins continues to expand his creative horizons, writing music for a true-crime podcast called The Trouble With Murder.

The trailer shows Spinal Tap's heroes as older, possibly wiser, and preparing for a comeback. The film also features cameos from music legends Paul McCartney and Elton John.

In the studio scene, some Jazzmasters hang on the wall, adding to the iconic guitar vibe. St. Hubbins is also seen playing an EBMM signature model in Union Jack finish, which is a James Valentine HH model with custom block inlays.

Spinal Tap II: The End Continues is out September 12 through Sony Pictures. Get ready for a rocking ride!
