Guilty Verdict for Individual in Dalston Gangland Shooting Incident That Left 9-Year-Old Girl with Brain-Lodged Bullet

In the heart of east London, on a fateful day in May 2021, a harrowing incident unfolded outside the Evin Turkish restaurant in Dalston. Six gunshots echoed through the bustling street, shattering the peace and leaving four victims in their wake.

The gunman, riding a stolen Ducati Monster motorbike, remains unidentified. Believed to be a member of the Tottenham Turks gang, he is described as mixed race. His getaway driver, Javon Riley, was arrested and convicted of attempted murder and grievous bodily harm, but has refused to reveal the gunman's identity beyond this description.

The shooting claimed the innocence of a nine-year-old girl, who was permanently injured by a stray bullet, and three men affiliated with the rival Hackney Turks gang. Nasser Ali, 43, suffered a wound to his backbone, Kenan Aydogdu, 45, was shot in the leg, and Mustafa Kiziltan, 35, was hit in the thigh. The young girl spent more than three months in the hospital and now carries a titanium plate in her skull.

The Metropolitan Police have launched a thorough investigation, employing covert surveillance and a public appeal. A reward of up to £15,000 is being offered for information that could lead to the capture of the gunman and those involved in orchestrating the shooting. The police continue to seek community assistance, emphasizing the danger posed by the still-at-large shooter.

Riley, from the Tottenham area, was found guilty of assisting the motorbike-riding gunman in the gangland shooting. However, he denied three charges of attempted murder and causing grievous bodily harm with intent to the girl. He is awaiting sentencing, which is scheduled for 12 September. The judge, Mark Lucraft KC, has warned Riley that he faces a lengthy prison sentence.

The gunman's disregard for the safety of innocent individuals is evident in the indiscriminate nature of the shooting. He fired six bullets in two seconds, one of which struck the young girl. Despite this, he continues to elude capture, underscoring the need for the public's vigilance and cooperation.

The shooting was a planned assassination of members of the Hackney Turks gang, a chilling reminder of the violence that continues to plague certain communities. The gunman's actions demonstrate a callous disregard for human life, as he shows no hesitation in sending a message or causing harm to his opposition.

As the search for the gunman continues, the community remains on edge, hoping for justice and an end to the senseless violence that has marred their neighbourhood. The Metropolitan Police urge anyone with information to come forward, offering a substantial reward for any leads that could help bring the gunman to justice.
