Guests at Trump's Las Vegas Hotel Questioned Staff About Epstein Documents

The Wall Street Journal reports that Donald Trump, the current President of the United States, is resisting calls to release the FBI's investigative files on Jeffrey Epstein, a well-connected business mogul who was accused of sex trafficking before his death by suicide in custody.

Trump's resistance stems primarily from his political framing of the Epstein investigation as a Democratic "hoax," rather than from any explicit legal or property-related reasons. Trump has publicly suggested that the Epstein investigation is a scam used by Democrats to attack Republicans, and he contests the demand for full disclosure of files related to Epstein, whose known association with Trump dates back decades.

Trump's past interactions with Epstein in various properties and social circles, such as Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, contextualize the scrutiny. Notably, Trump Plaza—which was owned by Trump Entertainment Resorts and operated from 1984 to 2014—was a location where Trump and Epstein were publicly known to socialize. A former Trump Plaza executive recounted how Trump appeared at the casino late at night with Epstein and young women, highlighting their close relationship during the 1980s and 1990s.

The Trump International Hotel Las Vegas, owned by Trump, is not directly implicated in the Epstein file release dispute. However, questions about the Epstein Files have become a topic of conversation among guests at the hotel. Locally, Las Vegas news sources have reported about guests asking about the Epstein Files. An insider source at the hotel stated that they have no involvement with the Epstein Files issue.

Despite Trump's denial, the Wall Street Journal reported that Trump was informed in May that his name appeared in other justice department documents related to Epstein. Documents disclosed to conservative influencers in February included Trump's name. An unnamed White House official did not deny that Trump's name appeared in the Epstein Files.

Frustration is growing as the Epstein Files are not being released, with some individuals going to unusual lengths to obtain information about them. Trump's supporters expect him to release the FBI's investigative files on Epstein.

Trump assumed office for a second term in January. The reluctance to release the FBI files seems politically motivated and related to protecting Trump's interests in light of their past association, with Trump Plaza serving as a documented nexus of their connection rather than Trump International Hotel Las Vegas playing a direct role.
