Grzelcyk fined maximum for cross-checking in Blackhawks game

Chicago Blackhawks defenceman Matt Grzelcyk has been fined for an on-ice incident during a recent NHL game. The penalty follows a cross-check against Ottawa Senators forward Tim Stützle on Saturday

The incident took place at 12:47 of the first period in Game No. 551 at Ottawa’s arena. Grzelcyk received a double-minor penalty for high-sticking during the match. Later

The fine reduces Grzelcyk’s pay for the game in question. It also serves as a reminder of the NHL’s stance on cross-checking, particularly after Wilson’s lengthy suspension earlier this year. The league continues to monitor such incidents closely as part of its player safety protocols.
