Growing Power of The Great British PAC: Legitimate and Grassroots Movements Gain Traction

The Great British PAC, a rapidly growing organisation, is making waves in British politics, just seven months after its formation. With over 50 county and regional directors and a cross-party advisory board, the PAC is reshaping the political landscape.

One of the PAC's most significant ongoing cases is a legal dispute against the intelligence services MI5, MI6, and GCHQ. The PAC argues that the agencies' policy of excluding white British students from taxpayer-funded internship programs is discriminatory and unlawful under the Equality Act 2010. Sophie Corcoran, the PAC's Young People's Director, is leading the legal challenge, working with barrister James Tumbridge and a Cambridge University claimant.

A Judicial Review on the matter is due when the High Court reopens in October. The PAC's legal team includes two King's Counsel, adding weight to their argument. The PAC has also launched an appeal to raise £20,000 to support the claimant in bringing the case forward.

The PAC is not only focusing on this legal battle but is also expanding its influence. They have successfully secured a formal apology from the British Wheelchair Basketball team for turning their backs during Israel's national anthem before a match in Cologne last month, thanks to their grassroots "email warriors."

The PAC is also opposing the Government's plan to hand over the Chagos Archipelago to Mauritius. The organisation coordinated a letter to former US President Donald Trump, signed by over 40 MPs, peers, and security experts, warning the transfer could undermine the Diego Garcia base. The letter, backed by Sir Iain Duncan Smith and Margaret Thatcher's former aide Dr Nile Gardiner, argues that placing the territory under Mauritius would create legal ambiguity over US nuclear operations and invite challenges from China, Russia, and international bodies.

The PAC's mission extends beyond legal cases and political influence. They are involved in private prosecutions against activists, campaigns to hold the British Museum accountable over the Elgin Marbles, and work with MPs resisting Labour's proposed Islamophobia definition.

Bullivant, a representative of the PAC, stated that the group delivers results where others merely talk. He encourages people to join the PAC, stating that the United Kingdom will be saved by the courageous. The PAC's website is available for supporters to join for free.

As the PAC continues to grow and expand its pipeline of cases and campaigns, it remains committed to challenging discrimination, holding institutions accountable, and reshaping British politics. Bullivant compared the PAC to an avalanche moving mountains, a testament to the organisation's determination and impact.
