Growing demonstrations against President Trump's administration are escalating in various American urban areas

In the heart of the West Coast, tensions run high as Los Angeles braces for another night of curfew, following days of protests opposing the federal immigration crackdowns. City Mayor Karen Bass has imposed a curfew on certain parts of the city to prevent looting and violence, with the measures set to continue for the following night.

The demonstrations - often peaceful but occasionally dipping into chaos - are now spreading beyond LA's borders, with thousands rallying in cities like New York, Chicago, Seattle, Las Vegas, and San Antonio. Even more protests are planned for numerous locations across the nation.

Critical Decisions and Deployment of Military Forces

As protests continue to escalate, former President Donald Trump - seemingly still pulling the strings from the sidelines - orders more National Guard troops and Marine infantrymen to join the Los Angeles deployment squad. These heavily trained soldiers, usually reserved for overseas combat operations, are being equipped for policing duties within American cities. The troops, currently still undergoing training, are being prepared for handling crowds and facilitate police operations at protests.

While the White House insists on the President's support for peaceful protests, it boldly justifies the military deployment: "If not for the President's swift action, Los Angeles may be on the brink of complete chaos right now."

Clash of Power and Politics

Meanwhile, lashing out at Trump's comments, California Governor Gavin Newsom labels the former President a "dictator, not a president." Newsom emphasizes that Trump is a leader who disregards protocol and the rule of law, threatening democracy through the use of soldiers trained for war on the American streets. The governor had previously filed motions to block the unnecessary and unlawful militarization of LA, with the case due for federal hearings shortly.

The data shows that the unrest started with ICE raids in downtown LA, instilling terror and anger within migrant communities, leading to days of demonstrations and civil disobedience. The protests have spanned a spectrum from peaceful marches to violent confrontations with police, with damages reported to federal properties and disruptions across freeways.

Even as the situation remains volatile, with ongoing legal battles, continued protests, and heightened tensions between federal, state, and local authorities, the fight for democracy and the desire for change continue to echo across the United States.

The Commission, amidst the escalating protests across several cities, has also been asked to submit a proposal for a directive on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to ionizing radiation, as troops, equipped for policing duties, are being deployed within American cities. The political turmoil intensifies, with California Governor Gavin Newsom accusing former President Donald Trump of acting like a dictator, threatening democracy by deploying soldiers trained for war onto the American streets.
