Groupe Casino unveils bold *Renouveau 2030* with 400+ new French stores

Groupe Casino has revealed its major expansion strategy, Renouveau 2030, targeting the opening of over 400 new stores across France by 2030. The plan includes store renovations, new formats, and a focus on convenience retail to cater to shifting consumer demands.

Under Renouveau 2030, Groupe Casino aims to add around 200 new Franprix stores, 20 Naturalia shops, and over 210 outlets under the Casino, Vival, and Spar brands. While specific locations for the 210 new Casino, Vival, and Spar stores remain undetermined, the group has outlined a general deployment strategy. Franprix will concentrate on Île-de-France, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, while Casino, Vival, and Spar will target urban areas in the latter two regions.

The expansion will boost the number of convenience supermarkets and urban grocery stores in key French regions. Groupe Casino's renovations and new openings aim to fortify its presence, while Auchan's rebranding emphasizes competitive pricing. Both strategies address evolving consumer needs in the retail sector.
