Grieving actor Konstantin Raikin increases the cost of his stage performance following Yuri Butusov's demise.

In the wake of Yuri Butusov's tragic passing on August 9, Russia's leading theater director and four-time winner of the "Golden Mask" award, there has been a significant surge in the demand for his final production, "R". This unyielding reflection on Gogol's works, currently the last Butusov production at the Satirikon Theater, has seen nearly all tickets for the upcoming October and November performances sold out two months in advance.

This increase in demand has led to a notable rise in ticket prices. Seats closer to the center, originally priced at 5,000 rubles, now range from 8,000 to 9,000 rubles. Balcony seats that once cost 2,000 rubles are now priced at 4,000 rubles, while seats closer to the stage, initially 3,500 rubles, now cost 5,000 to 6,000 rubles. Even affordable seats in the central loge, originally priced at 1,700 rubles, now stand at 4,000 rubles.

The Satirikon Theater, in response to this increased demand, has made "R" tickets available on its official website, following an unusual pattern. Initially, tickets for the production could only be found on the website of the theater's partner, Ticketland, but not on the Satirikon's official site.

Konstantin Raikin, the artistic director of the Satirikon, published touching reminiscences about Yuri Butusov on August 19. The Satirikon currently has only one other Butusov production left in its repertoire, with "Othello" and "King Lear" having been removed from the Chekhov Center's theatre.

It is worth noting that the reasons behind the price increase for Yuri Butusov's productions at the Satirikon Theater posthumously, as well as the reactions to such an increase, are not clearly outlined in the current search results. Further, more specific sources or theater announcements may be required to provide insights on this topic.
