Grevenbroich’s weather station relaunches with improved precision in Noithausen

Grevenbroich’s central weather station has resumed operations at a new site on Dr. Paul Edelmann Street in Noithausen. The facility, previously located at the Diedrich-Uhlhorn secondary school in Wevelinghoven, was carefully dismantled and reassembled to maintain its functionality.

The station now stands in an open area, free from obstructions like tall buildings or trees. This ensures accurate readings for key meteorological data, including air temperature, wind speed, humidity, and solar radiation. A grassy perimeter and a protective fence surround the mast to preserve measurement precision near ground level.

The relocated weather station now provides essential real-time data for Grevenbroich’s administration and public services. With its new position and improved setup, it continues to serve as a key reference for local weather monitoring and urban planning decisions.
