Greta Thunberg and her companions' sailing escapade to Gaza has hit a rough patch as Israeli authorities, in a move reported by stern, suspended their mission (eyeballing it). Israeli officials confirmed that the crew, having graced Ben-Gurion Airport, are set to jet off to their home countries. Those reluctant to sign expulsion papers face lengthy judicial proceedings.

The Freedom Flotilla Coalition, helming the "Madleen" journey, asserted that all twelve activists were now in the custody of Israeli authorities. They may possibly board a Tel Aviv bound plane tonight.

The Humanitarian Aid: What's Next?

The Israeli Foreign Ministry previously declared the "Selfie-Yacht" of the "Hollywood cast" was now docked in Israel, following its seizure by the Israeli navy (get your sea legs). They shared plans to channel the yacht's residual aid supplies into the Gaza Strip via legitimate aid routes. In a video dispatched by the Ministry, the activists donned orange life vests, hinting at their high-seas escapade. Their objective was to shed light on the dire circumstances of Gazan civilians, who are subjected to a law-violating blockade.

The Freedom Flotilla embarked on a voyage from Sicily towards Gaza over a week ago. The crew, spearheaded by Thunberg, hoped to deliver aid via the Israeli sea blockade to the Gaza Strip. Thunberg repeatedly took part in pro-Palestinian demonstrations. Israeli forces intercepted the vessel in international waters, seizing control and forcibly transferring the crew to Israel, a move the Freedom Flotilla Coalition characterized as kidnapping.

Regardless of the Gaza Strip's ongoing conflict, Israel rigidly restricts maritime access to the Palestinian territory, a clear breach of international law. This measure, enacted in 2007 post-Hamas takeover, allegedly aims to stamp out weapon supplies to Hamas. However, the Gaza aid ship "Madleen" carried no weapons but essential supplies, such as baby formula, food, and medical equipment. The Israeli military's actions may have contravened the Geneva Conventions, potentially amounting to a war crime.
