Greifswald's 'Ferienleselust' Sets New Record: 300 Students Read 1,400 Books

Greifswald's 'Ferienleselust' summer reading project has concluded successfully, with over 300 students from grades 4 to 6 setting a new record by reading nearly 1,400 books. The closing event will take place at 14:30 in St. Spiritus, featuring a book show by Christian Friedrich, author of 'The Three Investigators'.

The project, running since 2010 and backed by various organizations, has seen remarkable growth. Students have embraced the initiative, with their enthusiasm reflected in the impressive numbers. The highlight of the event will be a visit from Christian Friedrich, who will be in Greifswald on September 17, 2025.

Certificates will be awarded to the participating students, recognizing their dedication and achievement. The most enthusiastic reading school will be honored with the 'Owl' traveling trophy, although the recipient for 2025 has yet to be announced.

The 'Ferienleselust' project continues to inspire young readers in Greifswald. The closing event promises to be a fitting celebration of the students' accomplishments, with Christian Friedrich's visit adding to the excitement.
