Green Youth member resigns due to anti-Semitic controversy

Title: Standoff in the Greens: Another Scandal for Jette Nietzard

By Oskar Luis Bender

It's the talk of the town! The antisemitic scandal swirling around the head of the Greens Youth is creating quite a stir. Jette Nietzard, under fire for her insensitive remarks on a video uploaded on October 7, is now feeling the heat as prominent members abandon the Greens youth organization.

"With a heavy heart, I find myself at odds with the Greens Youth. I've run my course, and I simply can't muster the energy or the will to fight for a space that has shown a shocking unwillingness to tackle the pressing issues of antisemitism and the holistic Jewish life experience," confessed Hanna Veiler (27), former president of the Jewish Student Union Germany, on her Instagram account.

Persistent Blind Spot

Critics have long pointed out the "blind spot" on the topics of antisemitism and Jewish life that permeates the Greens Youth. Veiler echoes this sentiment.

The Viral Video

In the now-deleted video, Nietzard referenced 1200 Israelis who "passed away during military operations." Her comments trivialized the horrific reality - these victims were murdered, raped, and taken hostage to the Gaza Strip by Palestinian terrorists. Witnessing a wave of hatred against Jews that mirrors tragedies of the past, the incident was anything but a military operation.

Renewed Resignation Calls

Joining the chorus of those demanding Nietzard's resignation are the CDU State Secretary Falko Liecke (52) and the Jewish Student Union (JSUD). "Nietzard's portrayal of the incident is callous and inexcusable. In light of this, she no longer holds our support," JSUD stated to WELT (owned by Axel Springer).

Apology and Rejection

On Friday, Nietzard expressed regret for her actions and vowed to apologize honestly. However, the Greens Youth politely decline a conversation offer from Nietzard. They believe that her mistake, as grievous as it is, cannot be forgiven. The American Jewish Committee Berlin also echoes the call for resignation due to Nietzard's insensitive comments.

Another Controversy in a Series

This isn't the first time Nietzard is at the center of a controversy; just a few days prior, she made headlines for sporting a controversial "ACAB" police-hate sweater - the acronym stands for "All Cops are Bastards." Green party bigwig Cem Özdemir (59) advised her to step down[2].

Trivia:-Did you know that the Palestinian terrorists responsible for the tragic event that Nietzard referenced stormed the Gaza Strip in 2023, causing an estimated 1200 casualties[3]?
