Greens Insist on Resignation of Interior Minister due to Disputes - Green Party Demands Resignation of Interior Minister

The Greens in Brandenburg have had enough of Interior Minister Katrin Lange (SPD). They're slamming her for and stating she's no longer fit to serve, claiming that she's been peddling a load of bullshit since the ousting of constitutional protection chief Jörg Müller. The excuse Lange gave for her move, that Müller didn't spill the beans about classified the AfD as a secure right-wing extremist on time, sounds more and more like a feeble fairy tale.

"Lange's excuses are crumbling faster than a burnt-out barn," said Green state chairman Clemens Rostock. "The damage she's caused is monumental. She needs to pack her bags or get shit-canned by Minister President Woidke."

Green Party: Scandal's Getting Worse by the Day

"This is a massive scandal that's getting bigger with each passing day," Rostock harshly criticized. "During the campaign, the SPD presented themselves as unyielding bastions against the AfD - and now they can the man who's dedicated his career to fighting right-wing extremism with passion?" This is simply unacceptable.

Lange canned constitutional protection chief Jörg Müller on a Tuesday, claiming she was only apprised weeks afterward about the already-completed classification of the AfD as a secure right-wing extremist. "I'm more than bummed out about the process," said Lange. The minister's critics think her tale smells fishy, especially as politicians from CDU and other parties question her credibility.

Lange insists there's nothing wrong with the AfD's professional assessment by the constitutional protection, but it's all about the way they dealt with one another. She's lost trust in the head of the constitutional protection because she should've been kept in the loop instantly.

This move has raised controversies about political interference in intelligence work and the potential undermining of efforts to counter right-wing extremism and other threats to democracy. The Greens view the dismissal as a scandal, a breach of trust, and call for Lange's resignation to restore faith in the office responsible for internal security. This situation reveals the sensitivity around constitutional protection agencies and their leadership in Germany's federal states.
