Graduate pupil Kenny Broberg from Park University's International Center for Music has progressed to the finals of the American Pianists Awards Competition.

The American Pianists Association's 2021 American Pianists Awards, originally a 13-month long competition from March 2020 to April 2021, has undergone a significant transformation due to the coronavirus pandemic. The revised event, spanning five weeks, began on May 23 and will stream online.
One of the five finalists in this prestigious competition is Kenny Broberg, a graduate student at Park University's International Center for Music. Broberg is known for his impressive accomplishments, having been a Cliburn Silver Medalist in 2017 and the bronze medalist at the 2019 International Tchaikovsky Competition.
Stanislav Ioudenitch, Broberg's instructor at Park University, was the gold medalist at the 2001 Van Cliburn event, further highlighting the high calibre of instruction Broberg receives.
The finals of the American Pianists Awards will take place in Indianapolis from June 25 to June 27. Each finalist will perform a short solo piece, and the winner will be announced. The winner will receive the Christel DeHaan Classical Fellowship, valued at more than $100,000. This fellowship includes a cash prize of $50,000, career assistance for two years, concerti and solo recitals worldwide, an artist-in-residence post at the University of Indianapolis, and a recording contract with the Steinway and Sons record label.
