In an exclusive interview with Arise News, Abia State's Governor, Alex Otti, made it clear that he has no plans to leave the Labour Party (LP). According to our sources, Governor Otti stated that the party has been rescued from the hands of its former chairman, Julius Abure.

During the interview, Otti was unequivocal, stating that Abure has no claim to the party's chairmanship. He referred to the Supreme Court's ruling, questioning, "If you finish reading it, you'll know Abure is just full of hot air. He's out. You can call yourself the president, but that doesn't make you one."

When asked by anchor Oseni Rufai if he would consider leaving the party, Otti responded firmly, "No."

In the face of pressure, Otti added, "I'm not a god. If there's no Labour Party tomorrow." However, he made it clear that he doesn't believe everyone must align with the ruling party. "This is democracy," he said. "Not everyone must be in the APC."

He further emphasized that President Bola Tinubu's political journey, from AD, AC, ACN to the APC, proves that one can maintain influence without joining the ruling party.
