Governor of the North Reveals Plans to Switch Parties from PDP to APC

According to our news outlet, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has categorically denied rumors suggesting a potential shift to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a chat with the media recently, Gov Fintiri's Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, affirmed that the governor remains a dedicated and authentic member of the PDP, and has no intention of leaving the party.

During a recent press conference in Yola, Wonosikou stated, "Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is not departing from the PDP." He reiterated that Fintiri is committed to leading the PDP National Convention Committee and is focused on the party's future.

These assertions were prompted by increasing conjecture that more PDP governors may jump ship to the ruling APC, following the high-profile defections of Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and his predecessor, Ifeanyi Okowa. The duo's departure, along with the entire PDP structure in Delta State, has sparked debates about the opposition party's trajectory leading up to the 2027 general elections.

APC National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, welcomed the defectors last week, hinting at more PDP governors potentially joining the APC in the future. However, Wonosikou maintains that Fintiri has no such plans.
