Government mandates offering discounts and tastings on election day for a "festive atmosphere" through the Department of Commerce
Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Issues Instructions for Election Day Services
The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade in Belarus has issued instructions for the provision of services during the elections to the House of Representatives of the 6th convocation, scheduled for September 11.
According to the instructions, trade institutions are encouraged to organise tastings as part of the election day services. The Ministry recommends a diverse range of catering products, including Belarusian national cuisine, fruits, drinks, souvenirs, and printed materials.
To facilitate smooth transactions, the Ministry recommends accepting cashless payments for buyers using BelKart cards, Visa, and MasterCard during these services. Additionally, discounts on certain products are suggested as part of the catering services.
The instruction document was signed by Deputy Minister Irina Narkevich. The document can be viewed here.
However, the available sources do not provide detailed information on how the Ministry intends to create a festive atmosphere, ensure high-quality service, or make catering services more attractive for the elections. For a comprehensive understanding of these aspects, it may be necessary to consult official Belarusian government publications, archived Ministry communications, or local news archives around that date that specifically address election day service organization and hospitality efforts.
