Eintracht Frankfurt Preparing for UEFA Champions League Debut Without Mario Götze

Eintracht Frankfurt, the German football team making their return to Europe's biggest stage after 940 days, will face Galatasaray Istanbul in their UEFA Champions League opener on Thursday. However, they will do so without the services of 2014 World Cup winner Mario Götze, who is sidelined due to muscular issues.

Götze participated in the final training session with the team but is not yet an option for the game against Galatasaray Istanbul. His absence leaves a significant gap, one that 22-year-old U21 international Nathaniel Brown is expected to fill. Brown is likely to start in place of Rasmus Kristensen, who is out with a muscle injury for an indefinite period.

Nathaniel Brown will be tasked with marking Leroy Sané, a challenging assignment for the young defender. Nevertheless, Eintracht coach Dino Toppmöller is confident that Brown will rise to the occasion.

Toppmöller has emphasised the importance of collective defence, stating that the team needs to defend well as a whole. He also encourages the team to enjoy the UEFA Champions League experience, acknowledging the special nature of European nights at Eintracht Frankfurt.

The coach finds it extraordinary to play in the UEFA Champions League with Eintracht Frankfurt and is excited for the team's participation in the tournament. He hopes Götze can return to the squad for Sunday's game against Union Berlin, but for now, the focus is on the upcoming clash against Galatasaray Istanbul.

The game against Galatasaray Istanbul is scheduled for Thursday (21:00 CET/DAZN). Eintracht Frankfurt is eager to make a strong start in the UEFA Champions League and is determined to put up a good fight against their Turkish opponents.

Despite the absence of Götze, the team remains optimistic and determined. They are ready to embrace the challenges that lie ahead and are looking forward to creating memorable moments in Europe's biggest football tournament.
