Göppingen to deploy drones for traffic and infrastructure data collection next week

Local authorities in Göppingen will carry out drone surveys next week to collect traffic and infrastructure data. The flights, scheduled for March 19, 2026, will cover two key routes in the area. Officials have confirmed that all operations will follow strict safety and privacy regulations.

The surveys will focus on Schlatter Straße (K1426), a stretch between Holzheim and the St. Gotthardt junction. A second location, Weilerbachweg in Manzen, will also be assessed during the same operation. Each flight is expected to last around two hours.

The gathered data will support Göppingen's Mobility and Transport Department in planning future traffic improvements. Authorities have emphasised that the drone flights will meet all legal requirements, with a strong focus on safety and data protection.

The drone surveys will provide detailed information for upcoming infrastructure projects. Residents and road users in the affected areas have been advised of the temporary activity. The results will help shape decisions on traffic management and development in Göppingen.
