Google's new AI model, Gemini, asserts a competitive edge in the artificial intelligence race, surpassing OpenAI's GPT4, according to Google CEO Sundar Pichai. This cutting-edge AI system not only keeps pace but outperforms its competitor.

Pichai emphasized that the AI revolution's current stage will mark the "most profound transition in our lives," surpassing the shift to cell phones or the internet.

Gemini's capabilities extend beyond text generation throughout chatbots. The AI can recognize and categorize hand gestures and drawings, solve problems based on the context, and make decisions. DeepMind head Demis Hassabis showcased these abilities during a video chat, with Gemini accurately classifying drawings and hand gestures in real-time.

Google plans to make Gemini accessible to billions of users through various Google products, including integrating the AI into Google DeepMind's subsidiary work. Presently, the subdivision operates independently. By merging the two, Pichai aims to centralize Google's AI efforts to better compete against OpenAI.

Google plans to introduce Gemini in three dimensions: ultramodel (Gemini Ultra), the most powerful version for complex tasks; Gemini Pro, aimed at a wider audience, with advancements for Google's Bard chatbot; and Gemini Nano, integrating into Google's flagship Pixel smartphone. The Pixel 8 Pro becomes the first device to employ this AI version.

Users will be able to record spoken language from lengthy meetings, lectures, or interviews in real-time, converting spoken speech to written text utilizing Gemini Nano. The feature summarizes conversations without delay. Google is gradually integrating Gemini into other products, such as search, advertising, and the Chrome browser, in the coming months.

Google has developed AI-based applications for years, but the intensifying competition propels it to reveal more of its advancements. Last year, OpenAI made headlines with its ChatGPT chatbot, causing a stir due to its human-like conversational abilities. This pressure necessitates Google to deliver more AI-powered innovations.

Crafted in collaboration with DeepMind and Google's internal AI department, Gemini AI features three primary enhancements: advanced multimodal capabilities, chained actions, and more robust performance.

  • Gemini's multimodal capabilities enable users to interact with AI in multiple formats, such as text, images, audio, and video.
  • Gemini's chained action feature allows users to achieve more complex tasks without manually switching between apps.
  • Gemini delivers enhanced performance and efficiency, making it suitable for applications requiring fast interactions, like customer service.

Gemini surpasses GPT4 by incorporating advanced multimodal interactions, automating actions through "chained commands," and delivering superior performance for user-convenience software.
