Golfer Scottie Scheffler's Swagger, Bryson DeChambeau's Triumph in South Korea, Exploring the PGA, and the Delight in Caddying a Sibling
Weekly Par Talk: A Fresh Dose of Golf Chatter!
Hey there, golf enthusiasts! This week, we've got a juicy edition lined up for you. Time to dive into the thrilling world of championships and incredible performances. But first, let's talk about the ghost we experienced last Monday – it was me, taking some time off to caddy for my brother!
Enough about me, though. The real story this week is Scottie Scheffler's ludicrous eight-shot victory at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. Some might say he's back, but I'd argue he never left. After all, he's been on fire all year long, racking up victory after victory.
Meanwhile, Bryson DeChambeau managed to earn his first win since the 2024 U.S. Open, at a LIV Golf event held in South Korea. With DeChambeau and Spieth trending strongly, the PGA Championship is shaping up to be an exciting event.
Speaking of, let's peek at the second major championship of the year, shall we? As always, don’t hesitate to share your thoughts, concerns, or disagreements at mark.harris@ourwebsite or find me on X @ **itismarkharris.
Carrying The Bag For the Younger Brother
I've been lucky enough to caddy for my younger brother in two PGA Professional Championships now. Although we didn’t make it to the Top 20, it's all about the journey and the addiction to this game that keeps us coming back.
With my brother still relatively young, there will be many more tries in the upcoming years. It's the early stages of his professional career as he balances teaching, the business, and family life.
We both took away some valuable perspective from the experience – the appreciation for the journey, the simple opportunity to compete, and the insane pride in chasing that little white ball into the hole.
Scheffler Isn't Coming Back – He Never Left
Scottie Scheffler never really left. Winning four times before May 2024 may have raised our expectations, but it took him nine starts of 2025 to find the winner's circle for the first time. However, this doesn't take away from his dominance this year.
His victory at TPC Craig Ranch in Texas was a clinic, not requiring even a modicum of effort on his part. He's one of the favorites to win the PGA Championship, alongside Rory McIlroy, and for a good reason. With his insane ball striking and hot putter, he remains unbeatable.
Watch Out for Bryson, Spieth, and More at the PGA Championship
Bryson DeChambeau is another player worth watching at the PGA Championship, thanks to his form and recent LIV Golf victory. And, let's not forget about Jordan Spieth, who has been solid in 2025 and has found something promising that could help bring him back to his best form at the PGA Championship.
With the PGA Championship rapidly approaching, only time will tell who will emerge victorious. So, stay tuned for more updates in the days and weeks to come!
- Engaging in a friendly wager, I'd say Scottie Scheffler stands a solid chance for the bonus at the upcoming PGA Championship, given his impressive performance and current form in sports tournaments.
- With Bryson DeChambeau's recent victory at a LIV Golf tournament and Jordan Spieth's promising revival, the sports world eagerly anticipates the bonus round at the PGA Championship, where both players could shine.
