Golf league debuts initial title-backed competition set for play in Hong Kong
The Hong Kong Golf Club, the oldest golf club in China, is all set to host the LIV Golf tournament next year. The event will be renamed the HSBC LIV Golf Hong Kong, as part of a multi-year partnership between LIV Golf and HSBC, announced earlier this year.
Scott O'Neil, CEO of LIV Golf, expressed his pride in returning to Hong Kong for another event. He emphasised LIV Golf's community-focused endeavours, including their commitment to giving back to society, as a significant aspect of their approach.
The tournament, previously played in Hong Kong, will take place from March 6-8, 2026, on the Fanling Course at the Hong Kong Golf Club. The revamped tournament will feature 54 LIV Golf players competing in individual and team competitions over three days.
The HSBC LIV Golf Hong Kong 2026 will be one of 14 events across 10 countries and five continents that make up LIV Golf's 2026 season. Confirmed host sites for the 2026 season include Riyadh, Adelaide, Singapore, South Africa, Mexico City, Virginia, Andalusia, Louisiana, the UK, and Indianapolis.
The partnership with HSBC aims to elevate the marquee event and highlight shared values of innovation, accessibility, and global impact. Andy Kwok, Hong Kong Golf Club captain, expressed his excitement about bringing LIV Golf to the region and its potential for global recognition.
In the first two editions of the Hong Kong tournament, players from the Fireballs GC team have won the individual events. Notably, Abraham Ancer won in 2024, and Sergio Garcia triumphed in 2025. Meanwhile, Legion XIII were the 2025 LIV Golf champions, winning the Michigan Team Championship in a playoff against Crushers GC.
The team for the HSBC LIV Golf Hong Kong 2026 consists of Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, Tom McKibbin, and Caleb Surratt. The Hong Kong Golf Club emphasises its role in developing the game and putting Hong Kong on the global sporting map.
While the exact name of the golf club where the HSBC LIV Golf Hong Kong 2026 will take place is not explicitly mentioned in the provided search results, it is clear that the event promises an exciting return to Hong Kong's golfing calendar.
