Golf icon from the USA accuses Ryder Cup broadcast of bias, labels European players as 'soft' or 'cowards' instead.

The 2025 Ryder Cup is set to take place at the prestigious Bethpage Black Course in New York, promising an electrifying atmosphere that is synonymous with the Big Apple. The European Ryder Cup team, led by Captain Luke Donald, is gearing up for the challenge, with a unique approach to training – using Virtual Reality (VR) headsets to simulate the rowdy New York crowd.

This isn't the first time the European team will face such a crowd. As early as 1985, American golfer Raymond Floyd Wadkins recalled experiencing booing from grandstands at European Ryder Cup events. Wadkins, who captained the U.S. Ryder Cup team in 1995, has expressed concerns about potential fan incidents involving European players during the upcoming Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black.

New Yorkers have a reputation for being rambunctious at sporting events, and the media is largely responsible for the narrative about unruly fans during the Ryder Cup. Wadkins has pointed out that international fans often receive a pass from both homer media and media in the United States.

However, concerns about European supporters not being respectful or doing too much have not been raised in the lead-up to the Ryder Cup. In fact, the Americans are the visitors in the biennial Ryder Cup event, and there is no mention of such concerns.

Wadkins has criticized the European Ryder Cup Team for not speaking out about their experiences with unruly fans in Europe. He suggests that the European team may be "wusses" who can't handle the heat of rowdy New York fans.

In response, Team Europe is using VR headsets to prepare for the potential crowd rowdiness. This innovative approach demonstrates the team's commitment to overcoming any challenges that may arise during the Ryder Cup.

The Ryder Cup trophy is currently being exhibited at the Bethpage Black Course, adding to the excitement and anticipation for the event. As the countdown to the 2025 Ryder Cup continues, golf fans worldwide eagerly await the clash of the titans at Bethpage Black.
