In a conversation with reporters before the Warriors' game against the Clippers, coach Steve Kerr expressed that Draymond Green's indefinite suspension makes sense, hoping it'll aid Green in self-training and life changes. Kerr emphasized that the suspension goes beyond basketball, focusing on Green's overall well-being and persona transformation.

"The suspension is justified," Kerr said. "It's not just about basketball. It's about helping Draymond. This is a chance for Draymond to step away and change his lifestyle and life. It's not an easy task."

Kerr mentioned they weren't talking about a five-game suspension and an easy resolution. Instead, he reiterated that it concerned Green's off-court behavior.

"It's not just about the on-court incident, it's about his life," Kerr continued. "Here, we're talking about a man I've known for decades, a man I respect deeply for his loyalty, dedication, passion, love for his teammates, friends, and family."

Kerr acknowledged that Green was aware of needing changes after the aggressive incidents with Jordan Poole, Rudy Gobert, and Nurkic.

Green was suspended indefinitely by the NBA after hitting Nurkic in the face and throwing him to the ground during the Warriors' 119-116 loss to the Phoenix Suns. After the game, Green claimed it was an accident.

This is Green's third ejection in the 2023 season and his second suspension in 2023.

Mike Dunleavy, the Warriors' GM, stated that the team had collaborated with the NBA to create a "no-game" protocol. Dunleavy emphasized the team's commitment to helping Green.

The NBA stated Green must meet certain league and team requirements before returning to the court.

Regardless of Green's actions, Kerr maintained his belief in Green and hoped he'd complete his career with a positive ending.

"The key for me is what long-term impact this will have on his life," Kerr said. "I hope he's happy. I hope he reaps the rewards of an incredible career and legacy. I hope he ends his career in a truly wonderful and worthy manner."
