Goalkeeper Kairat awarded title of World's Best for the fifth time

Leonardo De Melo Vieira Leite, better known as Ighita, has once again been crowned the "Best Goalkeeper of the World" after a successful performance in the current year's competition. The recognition came from Futsal Planet, a leading organization in the sport of futsal, a variant of indoor soccer.

Ighita, who plays for the team "Kairat" in Almaty, Kazakhstan, has been a dominant force in the "Best Goalkeeper of the World" competition, having previously won the title in 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019. This year, he scored an impressive 603 points, outperforming Brazilian goalkeeper Gittu of "Sporting" who scored 561 points.

The competition is a significant achievement in the sport of futsal, and Ighita's fifth title further cements his status as one of the greatest goalkeepers in its history. Ighita, a Brazilian national as indicated by his surname Vieira Leite, is also a member of the Kazakhstan national futsal team.

Jesus Herrero of "Inter" finished in third place, scoring 409 points in the competition. The news of Ighita's latest victory was reported by Almaty.tv.
