In a surprising turn of events, Manchester United has shown interest in Paris Saint-Germain's goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, following PSG's decision to exclude him from their Super Cup squad. As of now, no concrete transfer agreement or contact has been confirmed between Manchester United and Donnarumma or PSG.

PSG's recent signing of Lucas Chevalier and their willingness to sell Donnarumma, valued between £34.5 million and £43.1 million, have added fuel to the speculation. Donnarumma is reportedly seeking a long-term move and prefers the Premier League, but Manchester City is currently considered the front-runner for his signature.

Manchester United, however, is not resting on their laurels. They are also reportedly exploring alternative goalkeeper targets such as Antwerp’s Senne Lammens, indicating they might not rely solely on Donnarumma. There is also speculation that United could pursue other options like Aston Villa’s Emi Martinez or even consider David de Gea’s unexpected return, making Donnarumma's signing less certain.

Last season, Donnarumma's performance, particularly in the Champions League, was remarkable. He saved 8 shots on target in a crucial semi-final match against Arsenal, a testament to his phenomenal reflexes that were key to Paris' advancement in crucial matches against Aston Villa, Liverpool, and Arsenal. His performance solidified his status as an elite goalkeeper at the world level.

Manchester United is reportedly ready to offer around €30 million for Donnarumma, but the situation remains fluid with strong competition from Manchester City and Chelsea. Talks between Manchester United and Donnarumma could intensify in the coming days as the transfer window heats up.

Meanwhile, Manchester United has made other moves in the transfer market. They have signed Benjamin Šeško from Leipzig, while Jack Grealish has been loaned to Everton from Manchester City. The club is keeping a close eye on Donnarumma's situation regarding his departure from PSG.
