Gloucester's Duchess Dazzles at the American State Banquet with Honeysuckle Tiara
Royal State Banquet at Windsor Castle
The Duchess of Gloucester graced Windsor Castle once more, as she attended the recent State Banquet for an esteemed guest. Accompanied by Prince Richard, the Duchess was in fine form, donning the Honeysuckle Tiara, a piece commissioned by Queen Mary in 1910.
The State Banquet, held at Windsor Castle for the second time in a few months, was a grand affair, not only offering a sumptuous feast but also a procession of historic diadems and fancy gowns. Queen Camilla adorned the Belgian Sapphire Tiara, while the Princess of Wales wore the Lover's Knot Tiara, and Princess Anne donned the Aquamarine Pineflower Tiara.
The Duchess of Gloucester was honoured with the Royal Family Order of King Charles III ahead of the French State Banquet in July. This prestigious honour is bestowed upon members of the Royal Family and selected individuals in recognition of their service.
Before the State Banquet, the group, including the Trumps, the King and Queen, and the Prince and Princess of Wales, gathered for an intimate lunch. Earlier in the day, they had also viewed items with curators at a special exhibition of rare artifacts, watercolors, and the first transatlantic cable between Queen Victoria and President Buchanan in the Green Drawing Room.
Rachel King, a renowned news writer, covered the event for Town & Country. With her work appearing in Forbes, Observer, Robb Report, Cruise Critic, and Cool Hunting, among others, she provided insights into this royal gathering. Rachel, originally from San Francisco and currently residing in New York with her family and a labradoodle, shared details of the day's events on her Instagram account.
This was not President Trump's first visit to a British royal residence. In 2018, he visited Windsor Castle for tea, while his first State Banquet was held at Buckingham Palace in 2019. The last State Banquet at Windsor Castle before President Macron's visit in July was in 2014 for Queen Elizabeth and Irish President Michael D. Higgins.
Interestingly, the central stone of the Honeysuckle Tiara can be swapped out and has held a large sapphire or diamond, including the Cullinan V diamond at some point. The Duchess of Gloucester's choice to wear this historic piece added an extra touch of elegance to the already grand occasion.
As the evening concluded, the royal guests retired, leaving behind a memorable State Banquet at Windsor Castle. The Duchess of Gloucester, with her grace and poise, undoubtedly added to the evening's enchantment.
