Gloria Gaynor, the iconic disco singer known for her hits "I Will Survive" and "I Am What I Am", will be honoured at the Kennedy Center Opera House in Washington D.C. on December 7.

The Kennedy Center, the largest cultural institution in the US capital, is recognising Gaynor's artistic lifetime achievements. The awards ceremony will take place at the prestigious opera house, a fitting venue for a woman who has survived and thrived in the music industry for over five decades.

Born in New Jersey in 1943, Gaynor rose to fame in the 70s and 80s with her powerful voice and empowering lyrics. Her music resonated with people around the world, making her a household name.

Gaynor currently resides in a shared apartment with a female friend, another divorcee. They describe their living situation as a modern-day version of the popular TV show "The Golden Girls". They spend their days together, cooking and attending church every Sunday.

If Gaynor is not at home, she can be found watching an online sermon. Her faith plays a significant role in her life, and she relies on God for guidance in matters of trust.

Gaynor was previously married to her manager Linwood Simon from 1979 to 2005. However, she is currently single and open to whatever God has in store for her in terms of love. She does not have a new romantic relationship at present.

The Kennedy Center is honoured to have Gaynor as their guest of honour, and fans are eagerly awaiting the ceremony on December 7. It promises to be a night filled with music, memories, and celebration of an artist who has truly survived and thrived in the face of adversity.
