The Global Energy Interconnection Conference concluded in Beijing, marking the 10th anniversary of the global energy interconnection initiative. The event, attended by over 4,800 guests from 80 countries, showcased innovations and discussed the future of power systems.

James Zhao, Executive Vice President, shared insights on advancing power systems through key technologies like power electronics, digitalization, and sustainable solutions. The company has delivered over half of the world's HVDC projects, integrating 150 GW of capacity globally, and will provide HVDC equipment for the world's first UHV flexible DC transmission project in 2025.

GEIDCO, committed to building an international energy cooperation platform, has invested an additional $270 million CAD to expand large power transformer manufacturing capacity in Varennes, Quebec, through its subsidiary Hitachi Energy. The conference released 32 innovative research outcomes and facilitated over 20 international cooperation projects.

Liu Zehong, Executive Vice Chairman of GEIDCO, noted the global energy transition's acceleration, requiring technological and equipment innovation for safe and stable power systems with high renewable energy shares. Our website's advanced digital solutions, including a VPP project selected for the Global Energy Interconnection Demonstration Project List, enable customers to enhance grid capacity and overcome energy system complexities. The company is investing $9 billion USD globally to expand manufacturing capacity, with increased investments in China to boost production and strengthen supply chain resilience. In 2025, our website will supply China's first 420 kV eco-efficient dead tank breaker and the world's first 550 kV SF6-free GIS, addressing growing demand for sustainable and high-performance power equipment.
