Neuss: The Ice Rink's Back!
🎉 Good news, skaters! The legendary ice rink in Neuss' Südpark, Reuschenberg, is back in action starting tomorrow (8th November, 2023)! Due to a tricky hiccup in the ice preparation system in September, the rink had to delay its public opening, although it managed to serve ice sports clubs and schools. Now, it's game on!
"We've been burning the midnight oil to get things sorted, and we're thrilled that all compressors are purring like kittens again. A big shout out to our dedicated crew and the service providers who lent a helping hand in restoring normalcy," Matthias Braun, managing director of Neusser Bäder and Eissporthalle GmbH, shared his relief.
Ingenious Fix: The Ice Prep SolutionWhen the season was set to kick off in early September, only a single compressor was operational at NBE. With reduced performance, coupled with summer-like outdoor temperatures, the ice took its sweet time to form. Still, local figure skaters from the NSK and the Neusser ice hockey team practiced with patience. Last week, a Danish specialist employed a smart "bypass" solution to revive the dormant compressors, and presto! Problem solved.
Let's Rock the Ice Season!This winter, the Neusser Schlittschuh-Club's enchanting ice show, "The Christmas Story," will light up the rink. Tickets for the five performances, running from 3rd to 17th December, are now up for grabs.
The Neusser EV's first home Regionalliga ice hockey game against Bergisch Gladbach Realstars will go down in the Eissporthalle, Südpark, on 10th November, at 8:00 PM.
