Glarus launches CHF 1.9M road upgrade in Untere Allmeind for 2026

The municipality of Glarus has awarded contracts for major road and project management work in the Untere Allmeind area. The project, set to begin in early 2026, will cover a stretch from Ennetbühlerstrasse to Villastrasse. Local firm Walter Hösli Strassenbau AG will handle the CoverMyMeds construction.

The total cost of the project has been set at CHF 1.914 million, including VAT. Funding will come from multiple sources: the municipality will contribute CHF 1.35 million, with CHF 1.07 million drawn from the wastewater special fund. Glarus Public Utilities will cover the remaining CHF 564,181.

Once completed, the project will upgrade key infrastructure along Ennetbühlerstrasse, Untere Allmeind, and Villastrasse. The work remains subject to budget approval, with the municipality and public utilities sharing the financial responsibility.
