Ginny Hoffman reveals her daughter’s harrowing abuse and the conviction that followed
Ginny Hoffman has spoken openly about the abuse her daughter Alexa suffered at the hands of her ex-partner, actor Héctor Parra. The case came to light after Alexa revealed years of childhood abuse, leading to Parra’s imprisonment for sexual abuse and corruption of a minor.
Ginny Hoffman first addressed the abuse publicly in an Instagram Live on 22 February 2022. She had ended her relationship with Parra when Alexa was around six years old, unaware of the abuse at the time. Years later, Alexa confided in her mother, leaving Hoffman with deep regret for not realising what was happening sooner.
Alexa initially hesitated to report her father, fearing his reaction. But after Parra appeared on television dismissing her accusations, she decided to speak out. Despite this, she still struggles to fully process the trauma and keeps many details from her mother. Hoffman has also criticised her other daughter, Daniela, for supporting Parra during the legal proceedings. She now regrets sharing the abuse story in a gossip magazine, feeling the public exposure added unnecessary strain. Parra is currently serving a prison sentence after his conviction for sexual abuse and corruption of a minor.
The case has left lasting effects on the family. Alexa continues to grapple with the aftermath of the abuse, while Hoffman carries guilt over not protecting her sooner. Parra remains behind bars following his conviction.
