Gießen Introduces New 30 km/h Zones to Boost Safety and Quality of Life
Gießen is introducing new speed limits to boost safety and quality of life. The Green party (GRÜNE) has implemented 30 km/h zones in several areas, following a rise in traffic accidents and injuries.
The Cemetery Alley's 30 km/h zone is now extended into Rodtberg Street, stopping short of the Narzissen Way. In the North Annex, a 30 km/h limit is set towards the West Annex, and between Krodorf Street and Leimkauter Way. Additionally, a 30 km/h zone is being established on Heyer Way, between Grunberger Street and Roedgener Street.
Gießen's new speed limits aim to reduce noise pollution and enhance safety, particularly for pedestrians and children. These changes are part of the city's ongoing efforts to improve traffic safety and overall quality of life.
