Giants crush White Sox 10-3 behind Bader's grand slam and Schmitt's power
The San Francisco Giants secured a decisive 10-3 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Saturday. The win snapped a four-game losing streak, with strong performances from both the offence and bullpen carrying the team to success. Before Saturday’s game, the Giants had managed just 12 runs across their previous four matches. But the offence broke out early, with Casey Schmitt launching his 10th home run of the season in the fifth inning. Chicago fought back, tying the game with a three-run rally in the top half of the frame.
The Giants quickly regained control in the bottom of the fifth. Harrison Bader delivered a grand slam off reliever Erick Fedde, extending the lead to 9-3. It marked Bader’s second grand slam in six days and the third of his career. Willy Adames also contributed with a home run, while Schmitt finished with three RBIs.
On the mound, Matt Gage (4-1) dominated in relief, striking out all four batters he faced. His sharp performance sealed the win for San Francisco, capping off a six-run fifth inning that put the game out of reach. The Giants’ offence exploded for 10 runs, their highest total in over a week. Bader’s grand slam and Schmitt’s consistent hitting led the charge, while Gage’s flawless relief work closed out the victory. The win moves San Francisco past its recent struggles and back into form.
