A ginormous construction crane, standing tall at around 65 feet, came tumbling down in the afternoon hours of Hamburg. This colossal mishap left two adjacent homes bearing the brunt of the impact, with both their roofs and walls taking a hit. According to the fire department's evening briefing, the crane's scaffolding at the construction site in the Farmsen-Berne district was also severely damaged. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported.

However, further investigation revealed that the interior ceilings of one of the affected homes required some temporary reinforcement. As a result, both the semi-detached houses were temporarily evacuated. The displaced residents sought refuge with their loved ones or close friends, as per the emergency services.

The local police are investigating the cause of this unfortunate incident, while the fire department, along with the Technical Relief Agency and emergency services, dispatched approximately 40 personnel to manage the situation. The police are looking into the possibility of other structures being impacted, given the crane had a circular cross-section. Furthermore, the emergency services are working diligently to restore the houses, as several utility lines, also of circular cross-section, were damaged in the process.
