Giant candidate, Beaux Collins, strengthens his claim on the team's roster
Beaux Collins Secures Spot on New York Giants' 53-Man Roster for 2025 NFL Season
Beaux Collins, an undrafted rookie, has made the New York Giants' initial 53-man roster for the 2025 NFL season, securing a role as a wide receiver and potential depth/special teams contributor.
Collins' impressive performances during OTAs and training camp earned him a spot over some veterans, including Lil’Jordan Humphrey, who was cut to make room for younger players like Collins. The Giants valued Collins' combination of size (6-foot-3, 206 pounds) and promise as a depth receiver.
Despite a less effective final preseason game, Collins' strong showing in the offseason and camp helped secure his place in a wide receiver room expected to have six players, with some competition for one or two final spots among rookies. Additionally, Collins' ability to contribute on special teams increased his value to the team, a common trait for depth receivers trying to solidify their roster spots.
In the practice sessions leading up to the final roster announcement, several other players made notable appearances. Andrew Thomas, Cam Skattebo, and Malik Nabers all returned to practice. Skattebo participated in team drills, unlike Malik Nabers and Deonte Banks, who were limited to individual drills.
Ihmir Smith-Marsette was used in the wildcat formation during 11-on-11s but fumbled the ball. However, he recovered his own fumble during the play. Quarterbacks coach Shea Tierney provided pointers to Smith-Marsette after the incident.
Deonte Banks had limited participation in practice. Abdul Carter made a notable play during 11-on-11s, achieving a would-be sack on James Hudson. Beaux Collins scored a 15-yard touchdown during red zone drills, catching a pass from Jaxson Dart.
With the 53-man roster finalized on August 26, 2025, Collins' battle to become a depth receiver and special teams player culminated successfully, confirming his role as part of the team's receiving corps and special teams units.
Collins' journey to the NFL, starting as an undrafted rookie, is a testament to his hard work and determination. As the season unfolds, fans will be eager to see how he performs in the competitive NFL environment.
