Gianluca Anzuini dominates Winter Championship with near-perfect score

The Winter Championship at Tav Vetralla has concluded with strong performances across multiple divisions. Competitors faced a challenging format, splitting 400 total points between rifle and clay target disciplines.

Gianluca Anzuini emerged as the top scorer in the Excellence category, while other athletes secured victories in their respective classes.

Gianluca Anzuini led the standings with 366 points out of 400, winning the Excellence category. His score combined results from both rifle and clay target events, each worth up to 200 points.

In the Second Category, Marco Romano took second place overall with 352 points. He also achieved a rifle score of 180 in the Country Rifle discipline, just behind Luigi Castellano's leading technical score of 185. Castellano himself secured third place in the Third Category with 337 points. His rifle performance stood out as the highest in the competition. Giambattista Sabia finished fourth overall with 319 points but claimed victory in the Senior division. Meanwhile, Alfonso D'Amato dominated the Master and Veterans divisions, scoring 285 points. Sara Birelli also delivered a strong performance on her home turf, earning 304 points. Next year's Italian Championship will introduce changes, expanding to 100 clay targets and adding more rifle stages.

The event showcased competitive performances across all divisions, with Anzuini, Romano, and Castellano leading their categories. Organisers have already announced adjustments for the next championship, increasing the challenge for participants.
