Ghost bewitches "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" with a captivating performance of "Lachryma"

Ghost's sixth studio album, "Skeletá", was released on April 25, 2025, and has been making waves in the music industry. The highly anticipated album, which features 10 tracks including the key track "Lachryma", debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, marking a significant achievement for the band and for hard rock in general.

One of the notable singles from the album is "Satanized", which introduced Ghost's new frontman, Papa V Perpetua. The album blends infectious hooks and hypnotic rhythms with dark thematic content centered on possession and blasphemy.

Tobias Forge, who performs as Papa V Perpetua in Ghost, described "Lachryma" as a song about self-deceit in an exclusive interview with Hammer earlier this year. This song, along with other tracks from the album, has been performed live as part of Ghost's current Skeletour 2025.

The live performance of "Lachryma" was particularly noteworthy as it was featured on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on July 23, 2025. The performance was dedicated to the memory of Ozzy Osbourne, who had passed away at the age of 76 shortly before Ghost took the stage at Madison Square Garden.

Ghost had headlined Madison Square Garden the day before their performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Forge spoke about dedicating the performance to Osbourne, stating "We're going to dedicate tonight's show to the memory of the life and laughter of Ozzy Osbourne. For being the prince of darkness, he sure gave us a lot of light so we're gonna tap into that tonight and carry it forward through a time of darkness."

The Skeletour World Tour 2025 kicked off on April 15 and continues after the Detroit show, with the shows on the tour being 'phone-free', requiring attendees to keep their mobile phones in sealed bags on their person. The tour has been well received, exemplified by a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden in July 2025, where "Lachryma" was included in the setlist.

The album was mixed by multi-Grammy-nominated mix engineer Dan Malsch using state-of-the-art equipment in Stockholm, highlighting the band's commitment to delivering a polished and sonically rich experience.
