Ghana & UK Launch Talks to Boost Sustainable Tourism and Cultural Exchange in Akuapem

Ghana and the UK have initiated discussions to bolster sustainable tourism and cultural understanding between the two nations. A high-level meeting took place in Akuapem, focusing on promoting the area as a key heritage and eco-tourism destination. Gilbert Aggrey, Deputy CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), led a delegation from the British High Commission to meet with Otoobour Djan Kwasi II, the Aburihene and Adonten Division Head of the Akuapem Traditional Area. The meeting explored enhancing collaboration to promote Akuapem as a prime heritage and eco-tourism spot. Aggrey conveyed greetings from GTA and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, and announced an impending visit of a prominent VIP from the UK. Miss Lawrencia Dziwornu, MP for Akwapim South, joined the delegation, which was headed by Ryan Wilson from the British High Commission and included Gisel Agyare, Victoria Situ, and Abigail Foatey, among others. Both parties pledged to fortify cooperation and celebrate the Ghana-UK relationship. While the VIP from the UK remains unnamed, their visit is anticipated to further solidify ties between the two nations in the sphere of tourism and cultural exchange.
