In the heart of Tokyo, at the Olympic Stadium, the women's 3000m steeplechase final took place, and it was a race filled with drama and resilience. The 33-year-old athlete from Dillenburg, Middle Hesse, Gesa Krause, was one of the competitors who left an indelible mark on the event.

Gesa Krause, a seasoned athlete, finished an impressive seventh place in the final. Despite experiencing a fall during the race, she managed to run her season's best time of 9:14.27 minutes. The fall occurred on the final lap, with Gesa tumbling onto the track, her upper body and face landing into the water.

Despite the setback, Gesa showed an unyielding spirit, quickly getting back up and continuing the race. Her perseverance paid off, as she crossed the finish line in a commendable seventh position.

Following her remarkable performance, Gesa expressed her satisfaction, speaking to ARD after the race. The organization FFH also congratulated her on her achievement.

Gesa Krause's personal trainer, Byron (headcoach), has been instrumental in her preparation for the Tokyo 2024 Summer Paralympics. Byron, along with a strong team at the Olympic Sports Performance Center (OSP) Berlin, has been coordinating Gesa's training plan. This includes cooperation with specialists in rehab, prevention, physiotherapy, osteopathy, and sports psychology, ensuring a holistic approach to her preparation.

Gesa's family was present at the stadium in Tokyo to witness her valiant effort. Their support no doubt played a significant role in her resilience during the race.
