Crime Series with New Face in the Team - Germany’s Großstadtrevier returns with gripping cases and a fresh detective
The long-running German police series Großstadtrevier returned with ten new episodes on Monday, March 2. The latest season premiered at 6:50 PM on Das Erste, introducing fresh storylines and a new cast member. Viewers can expect hard-hitting cases inspired by real-world issues.
The new season follows the familiar team of detectives as they tackle challenging investigations. Among the cases is a young woman’s struggle after her alleged attacker avoids prosecution due to bureaucratic failures in the justice system. Another episode, titled Asphalt Pirates, centres on cargo thieves who leave a truck driver with life-threatening injuries.
A third storyline explores the fallout from fake news posts that ruin a person’s reputation. The team also faces personal challenges, including a doctor’s private battle while balancing professional duties. Özgür Karadeniz joins the cast as Tarkan Yıldız, the precinct’s newest officer. Known for his ability to connect with people, Yıldız brings both experience and a wide network to the team. His arrival even sparks a new pastime in the station—a foosball table he installs quickly becomes a favourite among colleagues.
The ten episodes will air weekly on ARD, each addressing pressing social and legal issues. With a mix of intense investigations and personal drama, the season continues the show’s tradition of blending crime-solving with human stories. The addition of Tarkan Yıldız adds a fresh dynamic to the team’s work and workplace culture.
