Tram and ICE in Federal Police Style for the Anniversary - Germany's Federal Police unveils anniversary trains to mark 75 years of service

The German Federal Police has marked its 75th anniversary with a special celebration in Potsdam. Two trains—a high-speed ICE and a tram—were unveiled, each wrapped in eye-catching designs to honour the occasion. The vehicles will travel across the country to raise awareness of the milestone over the coming months.

The Federal Police was established in 1951 under the name Bundesgrenzschutz, or Federal Border Guard. Over the decades, its role has expanded to include safeguarding rail transport, securing borders, and ensuring aviation security. The force also supports international missions and assists other security agencies when needed.

The ICE train, now adorned with the slogan 'Traveling safely together: We celebrate 75 years of the Federal Police', highlights the organisation's long-standing commitment to public safety. Meanwhile, the 42-metre tram features images of officers in action, along with the message 'Climb aboard: Your career with the Federal Police' to encourage recruitment.

Both vehicles were presented at a ceremony in Potsdam, where officials emphasised the importance of the anniversary. The wrapped trains will serve as moving reminders of the Federal Police's history and ongoing work.

The anniversary campaign will see the trains operate on regular routes, bringing the Federal Police's message to a wide audience. The designs aim to inform the public about the force's duties while commemorating its 75-year legacy. The initiative also seeks to attract new recruits by showcasing career opportunities within the organisation.
