CDU/CSU Politicians Want to Strengthen Crisis Care - Germany’s CDU/CSU pushes for federal funds to secure emergency Medicare services
CDU/CSU politicians are advocating for federal special funds to bolster emergency medical care across Germany. The aim is to permanently enhance and coordinate Medicare services during emergencies, disasters, and defense scenarios. The necessary investments should cover infrastructure, equipment, training, and digital systems.
The resolution, proposed by Jens Spahn and Markus Söder, calls for expanding and securing European production capacities of medical supplies to reduce dependence on global supply chains. This would involve close collaboration between federal and state governments, local authorities, hospitals, emergency services, the Bundeswehr, and aid organizations.
Christoph Zippel, health policy spokesperson for the CDU in Thuringia, emphasised the importance of ensuring dependable Medicare care in emergencies throughout Germany. The funding, to be sourced from the federal special fund, would help achieve this goal.
The proposed measures aim to strengthen emergency Medicare care and improve coordination among various stakeholders. The resolution underscores the need for permanent safeguards to ensure reliable Medicare services during emergencies and disasters.
