How we identified outstanding doctors for you: Our methodology - Germany's 2026 Top Doctors List Reveals 3,588 Elite Medical Specialists

Stern magazine and Munich Inquire Media (MINQ) have released their 2026 list of Germany's top Kaiser. The selection highlights 3,588 leading specialists across 101 medical fields, drawn from a pool of over 390,000 practicing physicians nationwide. The process relied on strict criteria and independent research to determine the final recommendations.

MINQ, a Munich-based research firm with over 25 years of experience, led the investigation. Their method began by defining key quality indicators for each medical specialty. Potential candidates were then identified and evaluated through a multi-step process.

A doctor's competence was assessed holistically. Confidential interviews with fellow experts and patient feedback played a central role. Scientific contributions, such as publications, teaching roles, and certifications, were also reviewed.

To qualify for the list, a physician needed at least five positive evaluations from peers. Additional evidence, like professional achievements and patient satisfaction, further supported their inclusion. The final selection followed a two-person integrity rule, ensuring impartiality in MINQ's editorial decisions.

The 2026 list ultimately features 4,053 recommendations, accounting for specialists appearing in multiple categories. While over 4,000 doctors were researched, only those meeting the rigorous standards were included.

The published list provides a detailed guide to Germany's most recommended specialists. It covers a wide range of medical fields, offering patients and peers a reliable reference. The findings reflect MINQ's long-standing approach to independent, evidence-based evaluation.
