Germany Finishes Third in Schleswig-Holstein Network Cup Tournament
In addition to the Women's quadruple sculls making history at the 2025 Schleswig-Holstein Netz Cup, several other notable achievements were made by the British rowing team.
The Men's eight, consisting of Toby Lassen, Felix Rawlinson, Robbie Prosser, Kai Schlottmann, Jonathan Cameron, George Reed, Levin Graf (affiliated with Leander Club), and coached by Pete Sheppard and Sam Sheppard, also put up a strong performance. They finished third in the Schleswig-Holstein Netz Cup in Germany, with a time of 37.41 minutes[3]. However, they were beaten by German crews who took first and second place.
The Men's eight team also had some individual success, with Toby Lassen and Felix Rawlinson winning bronze medals in the Men's pair at the 2025 World University Games[4].
Meanwhile, Poppy Baker, a member of the Women's quadruple sculls, continued her impressive form, winning a gold medal at the 2025 World Rowing U23 Championship in Poznan[5]. Rebekah Court, another member of the Women's quadruple sculls, also competed in the A final of the women's double sculls at the recent World University Games[6].
Max Mills and Beatrice Argyle, members of the Men's eight, also brought home gold medals from the World University Games, with Max winning in the men's eight, and Beatrice in the women's eight[6].
Henry Pearson and Paul Cobbett, along with Ben Sheppard, provided regatta support for the team[2].
The Schleswig-Holstein Netz Cup, known as one of the toughest rowing races in the world, attracts around 80,000 spectators along its 12.7km course[1]. The event, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2025, also included the Ergo Cup and the Rowing Sprint Cup, featuring top male and female rowers from around the world[1].
With the success of the Women's quadruple sculls and the Men's eight in this year's Schleswig-Holstein Netz Cup, it is expected that more female crews will participate in future editions, further enhancing the competition's profile and inclusivity[2].
The British rowing team, with their commendable performance at the 2025 Schleswig-Holstein Netz Cup, has strengthened the rowing community and highlighted rowing as a significant sport. For instance, the rowing community applauded the efforts of the Men's eight team, who finished third in the competition and saw members Toby Lassen and Felix Rawlinson win bronze medals in the Men's pair at the 2025 World University Games.
